Information

To help answer all your questions, we invite you to visit the studio before your portrait session. Clothing choices, location, style of portraiture, sizes of final portraits are only some of the elements that insure a sucessful portrait experience.

If you cannot visit us to reserve your photo session, you can call. Keep in mind, it is best to reserve a day close to the beginning of your vacation time at the beach for your family beach portraits. It will allow back up days for unforeseen circumstances; especially poor weather conditions. Since our summer session dates fill up very early; the sooner you call us to reserve a date, the better.

Clothing coordination is critical. For an exceptional look, colors that blend with nature's background of sand, sea, sky and surf work very well. Whites, tans, blues, and sage green are great choices. For a truly designer look, some people coordinate with the colors in the room where their portrait will hang. It's important for each person to have equal importance in a group portrait, which is another reason we have everyone dress in a like manner, with similar colors and similar intensity of hues.

Sizes of portraits vary from 40" X 60" featured wall portraits on canvas to 5" X 7". However, we have discovered that most families choose a few wall portraits for their own homes and some smaller ones to give as gifts to their relatives and friends. To help you decide which sizes you'll need, we recommend that you measure the wall where the portrait will be displayed. Even more importantly, a beautiful portrait depends on the size of the individual faces in the portrait. You want to be able to see each person's expression clearly when you stand 8 to 10 feet from the portrait.
